The exercise teaches one distinction almost nobody is taught: a means goal is something you chase because it is supposed to lead somewhere — the title, the salary, the firm’s name on the door. An end goal is the place itself. Ten questions to see whether you can tell them apart, then three more that sort out what you want from the next three years.
